Abigail Leigh Raines, born October 15, 2002. Abby died in a car accident on October 30, 2005 when an 18 year old boy ran a stop sign. She had just turned 3 years old. Abby was an only child for her Daddy, and her Mommy's second. Brittany's only sister. She went by Abby, "Boo Bear", or Daddy's Girl. She had a lot of little friends and everyone loved her. She joined Marshfield Child Development Center (MCDC) for daycare early last summer. She went to her "Nana" Deloris Miller before that. She loved her Nana. Abby loved music, dancing and singing. She always would sing a song with you if you wanted. She loved Elmo, Barney, Ice Age, Cat In The Hat, and Finding Nemo. She also liked watching Peep in the morning while getting ready for daycare. Abby loved to play with her classmates, and enjoyed even more to come home in the evening and play with her best friend Paige, or her other friends Maggie, Olivia, and Amelia. She loved jumping on her new trampoline, and just joined gymnastics. 08/16/06 We seen this on the news today. Seems like Abby may be living on Sesame Street. She loved that show, and ELMO. Abby Cadabby Moves to 'Sesame Street'
Meet Abby Cadabby, the newest resident on Sesame Street -- and the first leading female character on the venerable children's show. Sesame Street © 2006. Sesame Street's got a new girl on the block: Abby Cadabby. The 3-year-old muppet fairy will be the long-running PBS children's show first leading female character. October 16, 2006 I haven't written anything for awhile, I thought I might today. Yesterday was Abby's 4th Birthday. I keep wondering if they have birthday's in heaven. I bought Abby some flowers and Mommy and Sissy bought some balloons and a bear. We spent some time at the cemetery, crying of course. We keep hearing stories of people who do not deserve to have children, and seeing children being neglected and suffering. We question why they are allowed to have them. Then we reflect on how we loved Abby, and how we raised her for 3 short years and question why we couldn't keep her. I have never felt a bond so close, or a love so pure. I miss you Abby, Happy Birthday in Heaven. January 6, 2007 For those who did not know, Lee Ann and I have been going to a fertility specialist in Little Rock Arkansas. We elected to go through In-vitro Fertilization. My wife was a real trooper, enduring the painful egg retrieval process. And even more for staying in bed for 2 days after embryo transfer was done. We had 5 excellent embryos fertilized. 2 were initially transferred and 3 are frozen. We didn't really expect the first time to work, and had the 3 frozen for the next attempt if needed. As many of you already know, the next attempt will not be needed. Both embryos were successful and we are now expecting twins. I know some people might think we are trying to replace Abby, but Abby was a special little girl who could NEVER be replaced. I miss the love and joy that Abby was. The love she taught me and showed me, and allowed me to show to her. The kind of unconditional love that is so pure and un-tainted. The love of a little girl and her Daddy that could never be broken. Abby was my first child and that can never be replaced or forgotten. Jesus is blessed to have such a special little Angel in heaven. September 14, 2007 I wanted to let everyone know of a friend from work who needs our prayers. Nicole is a Paramedic co-worker who has a little girl named Shelby. Shelby was diagnosed with a Brain tumor about 18 months ago. Shelby has been aggressively treated at St. Judes Research Hospital in Memphis TN. Her doctors are now saying there is no more treatment options for Shelby. Please pray for Shelby and her parents Nicole and Lee. To learn more about Shelby click here: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/shelbygrover Shelby was also chosen for the 2007 Bombay Bear with some proceeds going to St Judes research. Bombayposter.pdf . November 1, 2007 I can't believe it has been 2 years without Abby. I miss her today like I did 2 years ago. It never gets any better, we just learn to hide it better. Abby would be 5 now, and we always wonder what she would look like and what she would be doing in school. I know she would still be Daddy's little girl, no doubt! She would absolutely LOVE the twins. Emma and Ethan were born August 7th. Emma Abigail was 6 pounds even, petite little girly girl she is. Ethan Lee stole all the groceries in utero, he weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds 4 ounces....that's almost 14 and 1/2 pounds of baby!!! My wife was a real trooper though, she did great!
